Official photos for 2007 Honda CBR600RR
Looks like CBR600RR from Honda has been officially announced. The design comes in 4 different “standard” colors: blue, red, silver and black. The overall look seems to continue the previous design in same general lines but with a more aggressive look.
The engine looks to be based on the famous RC211V as everybody is speaking but I wonder how to build an 4-inline motor based on a V racing motor? I have the feeling this motor is not “racing” at all with 118HP, they use the nice picture build in racing competitions by the RC211V but will be same friendly Honda as we are used from previous versions. They said only “lighter, more compact engine and higher redline”.
Here are the official engine specs:
Engine Type: 599cc liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder
Bore and Stroke: 67mm X 42.5mm
Compression Ratio: 12.2:1
Valve train: DOHC; four valves per cylinder
Carburetion: Dual Stage Fuel Injection (DSFI)
Ignition: Computer-controlled digital transistorized with three-dimensional mappingThe other specs are not revealing anything spectacular: HESD electronic steering dampener (only on CBR1000RR until now), 6 gear Trans, 525 O-ring chain, 310mm/220mm brake discs, 120/70ZR-17 front and 180/55ZR-17 rear tire. The chasis was announced to be “new frame, sharper steering geometry, shorter wheelbase”.
