Suzuki GSXR 1000 K7 2007 – Pictures and Specs
Judging after the photos and based on what suzuki is telling us we can notice many things.Most important feature is the three different settings of engine management system with own engine map which can be selected instantly from a switch mounted on handlerbar. This feature will let the rider to choose from 3 different settings to adapt the engine behaviour to the conditions of the road: rainy, mixed and dry track conditions.
The new Suzuki GSXR 1000 come with a new engine, 999cc 4 cylinder, liquid cooled, nothing new up to here but wait and read to understand this is indeed a new better engine:
- forged aluminium alloy pistons, hollow camshafts and a balancer shaft for less vibration
- SDTV – Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve which provides a linear throttle response and more torque at low rpms.
- Fuel injectors with 12 smaller holes instead of 4 larger holes for a finner spray of the fuel
- Iridium spark plugs for a better combustion and longer service life
- Adjustable, back-torque-limiting clutch for smoother downshifts
- ISC – Idle Speed Control for better cold starting and reduced emissions
- Larger radiator trapezoidal shape inspired from race bikes for a 10% better cooling
- SAES -Suzuki Advanced Exhaust System – 2 head pipes coming to an under engine chamber and with two small aluminum/titanium mufflers which provides a lower center of gravity and better aerodynamics.
The chassis and bodywork:
- better aerodynamic bodywork with a new aggressive style, reduced area in front and taller windscreen
- new aluminum-alloy frame providing better rigidity balance
- new alloy-aluminum swingarm for racing set-up
- front forks and rear shock absorber adjustable for high/low speed damping and fully adjustable rebound damping and spring preload
- electronically controlled steering damper with different behaviour depending on speed
- adjustable rider footpegs intro 3 different positions
- 310mm (12.2 inch) front brake discs with 12 floating mounts instead of 8 for better heat transfer
